A night at the Montreux Jazz Festival

The summer has come with its myriad of open air festivals offering a wide range of musical, artistic and cinematic performances.

Among all of them, the most renowned is certainly the Montreux Jazz Festival, created by its genius president Claude Nobs in 1967. The festival has obviously reached this very high level of recognition because of all the great artists who have appeared on its stages from Miles Davis to Ray Charles, including David Bowie or Prince.

Furthermore, what make the Montreux Jazz Festival special is its stunning setting and warm atmosphere.

The Monteux Music and Convention Center, where the festival is held, is located right on the shore of the Lake Geneva which
gives with the French Alps in the background a very special “feeling”.

Last night, with a bunch of colleagues of the Lake Geneva Region’s Tourist Office, we had the chance to have a taste of it!

Even though you don’t have a concert ticket, just get off in Montreux and enjoy the surroundings, the atmosphere and the free concerts given on various stages.
